Aaron and Gabriel were having a fun time tonight with Grandpa and Grandma!

It all centers around eating....

Our friend Erin came to visit from Mason City last night. We went out to eat and this is a picture of Gabe in the big boy high chair at the restaurant.

This is Gabriel this morning after a breakfast of milk, fresh bananas, and oatmeal cereal.

The following are 2 attempts at taking pictures of Gabe's new teeth! They are hard to see but are there. You can also see his battle wounds on his head from pulling himself up on everything and then falling over!

It doesn't look very comfortable how I've shoved my fingers in his mouth. Poor guy!

It worked!

It worked!  Neat....  The picture of Gabe was from a few days ago when he was checking out the little cat decoration on the floor.

Old Friends and a New Friend

Maci and Rowdy enjoy each others company. They are simply the best of friends!!

This little sweetie showed up the other night when we were having a bonfire. He was as sweet as could be. We think he may belong to the neighbors? I'm going to have to ask them next time I see them.

I think we both wish the little guy was ours. Aaron has always wanted an orange kitty... We'll keep on the look out for him and maybe we can develop more of a relationship with the little guy. Aaron says his name is Tiger.

The Yacht

Ok, so it's not a yacht but it is a nice little boat!

Aaron has wanted a boat for quite some time. He bought this from the local boat shop through ebay.

The motor that came with it doesn't work (we knew that when buying). We have a used trolling motor coming today or tomorrow then we'll go for a little cruise down the lovely Des Moines River.

I can stand!

It's official! Today Gabe pulled himself to standing for the first time. Then he kept on doing it like it was no big deal.

It is cool enough here today to warrant warmer clothes for Gabriel. I was afraid he would outgrow this outfit before it was cool enough to wear... It is a little small but cute nonetheless!

New name.... KILLA......

This is my tough cat Jimi a.k.a KILLA (Killer)
We recently had a visitor in the form of a really cute rodent... I didn't want to kill it so Aaron went out and bought some humane mouse traps; but it wasn't soon enough.

The evening we set the HUMANE traps was the evening that Jimi took to hunting (mind you I had seen the mouse on THREE separate occasions).

I heard many a curious noise last night. It sounded suspiciously like a cat playing with a mouse.

This morning I found my rodent friend lying still in the middle of the hallway. Rigor had set in and my rodent friend had passed away at the paws of Killa.

First Bonfire!

Aaron built a fire ring in our front yard and tonight he made our first bonfire. We had a very nice time sitting around it and staying warm.

Gabriel would get mad (very mad) if he wasn't able to see the fire! He was so tired and finally fell asleep after a long fight!

Don't laugh at my socks, my feet were cold! It was in the 50s (remember where I've lived the past few years..... 50s are kinda chilly!)...

Crop Damage

Aaron drove outside of Humboldt to view the corn damage from the recent rains/storms.

The field in the back of this picture is supposed to be the tall, glorious Iowa corn... No longer.

This field suffered the same fate... It will be very interesting to see how the yields are after harvest.

Central Iowa Sunset

We have been most impressed with the beautiful Iowa sunsets. Almost every day has a sunset to take your breath away.

This was the first time we saw Gabriel really imitating us! Pretty fun...

Bananas!

So I thought Gabe would like to try feeding himself some food. I stripped him down to the diaper and strapped him in his high chair. He had to wait for me to mush up the banana and as you can see from the crying he is not a patient boy!


He basically had no idea what to do with the banana so I fed it to him with my fingers. Then he played with the food. We'll try again soon!

Baby Cuteness

Often we find Gabriel asleep like this in his crib. I think he dreams about crawling and gets himself ready to go! He now crawls like a pro and sits up well by himself.

He was SO TIRED when we took this picture. It was about the cutest thing ever!

This is right after we cleaned him up. He even has bed head.

Labor Day Weekend

We had a great long weekend at Aaron's parent's house in Minnesota. My mom, sis, & Sydney came down from Minot and stayed with us! It was really fun to see everyone!

Plane Ride

Aaron and I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to go up in a small plane with one of our church members. We were able to view all the crop damage from the recent rains & storms. We also saw many of the surrounding towns and our house. It was pretty cool!
