Oh Baby!

I haven't posted in a while because I've been working on growing a baby. It is serious, time consuming business. I have been concentrating very hard on changing the very shape of my body to accomodate the little one. From the picture below you can see what I've accomplished! I've pretty much been working on this in secret since I still don't have to wear maternity clothes and most people have yet to believe that I DO have a sizeable lump under my shirt.
Actually I SHOULD start wearing at least maternity pants pretty soon because I can barely button my pants. When I do get them buttoned they rarely stay buttoned longer than 4 or 5 hours.

We were blessed to have a peek at the little baby this week at our mid-pregnancy ultrasound. Our doctor's office has one of those fancy ultrasound machines that makes 3D/4D images. Very cool stuff!! This first picture is my favorite one -- quite amazing!
So it kind of looks like an alien right now, but just think that TWENTY short weeks ago this life did NOT exist! In another twenty weeks or so this baby will be born....
Right now the baby is 19 weeks old, weighs 9 ounces, has 2 arms, 2 legs, cute little fingers (we saw them), and a heart the size of your thumbnail complete with 4 perfect chambers. It also has visible boy/girl parts which we chose not to see! So it remains a mystery.....

It moved constantly during the ultrasound -- so much that the radiology tech. stated that our child was not cooperating (not the last time, I thought)! I still don't feel much movement but should start to feel more of that soon.

OK, brace yourself... This last one is a little creepy because it is more of a "skeletal" shot of the skull. I think the baby kind of looks like me in this one... Look at that skinny arm and big mouth!
Is that a face only a mother could love? I don't think so -- I'm pretty sure there are lots of other people out there who love it too.... Two grandmas, two grandpas, one daddy, 3 aunties, a few grand aunties, 5 uncles, a few grand uncles, a great grandma, a cousin, and many friends.

The baby has a clean bill of health from the ultrasound -- no abnormalities or anomolies were discovered and the size of the baby is right on track with it's due date. Praise be to God!!!

We can't wait to meet you little one!
