Our contractor has started tearing apart "the weird room" in order to make it non-weird.
If you haven't been in my house here is a short description of the weird room:
'a former patio between 2 bedrooms that is now enclosed but not insulated or finished in any way'. And it is like a basement in that the only outer wall is about 8 to 10 feet below ground.'

The cedar paneling is removed:
The windows and sliding doors will also be removed. Drywall will go up as well as a ceiling, floor, closet, 2 doors, electrical, and heating.
Here is a list of things we have done to the house since we bought it in June of 2007:
- pressure washed the cedar exterior
- tar coated the driveway (twice)
- new flooring in both bathrooms and laundry room
- painted both shower/tubs
- 2 new toilets, sinks, counters in bathroom
- new counters in kitchen and laundry room
- new curtains/blinds in den, kitchen, living room
- painted both bathrooms, laundry room, dining room, living room
- refinished 3 closet doors
- removed rock and put in pavers in atrium (approx. 3,000 pounds of pavers)
- made 2 flower gardens
- redid a rock garden
- new furnace in 2008
- custom made shelves in laundry room
- new light fixtures in bathroom, hallways, dining room
- custom work bench and shelving in garage

This is quite the list...you all have been busy. Isn't it fun to be home owners? Just think...after this project, there won't be any projects left, right? Ha! There is ALWAYS something...
It will be nice to see the weird room become a real room!
